Sim racing venue software, compared
How to read any comparison (including this one)
Every vendor demo looks great. The way to cut through it is to score each option against the seven capabilities a venue needs, booking with prepayment, walk-up self-serve, automatic rig launching, floor control, leaderboards, leagues, and multi-venue readiness, and to ask each vendor the same eight questions (list at the bottom of the buyer's guide). What follows is our honest read of the field.
| Capability | SimPull | ShiftOS | Multitap | DIY stack |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Online booking + prepayment | Yes | Verify | No | Via booking SaaS |
| Walk-up self-serve (phone → drive, no staff) | Yes | Verify | No | No |
| Automatic launch & session end | Yes | Verify | Launching yes | Manual |
| Payments on the customer's phone | Yes (Stripe) | Verify | No | Separate POS |
| AI race coaching / driver debriefs | Yes | Not advertised | No | No |
| Head-to-head grid racing, staff-run | Yes | Verify | Verify | Manual |
| Leagues w/ auto-scoring + paid entry | Yes | Verify | No | Spreadsheets |
| Cross-venue leaderboards & leagues | Yes, live today | Not advertised | No | No |
| Runs on your existing rigs | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Public per-rig pricing | $100/mo, or $80 paid annually. All-in. | By module, verify | ~$45/mo listed | $50-150 + labor |
"Verify" is not a dodge, it means we won't state a competitor's feature as fact where their public materials aren't explicit. Ask them directly; any good vendor answers the eight questions without hedging.
The options, one by one
Multitap
A solid, focused Assetto Corsa session launcher and kiosk. If all you need is "start and stop sessions on my rigs," it does that at a fair price.
The honest gap: it's one layer of the stack, not the stack, no booking, no payments, no coaching, no leagues. You'll still assemble (and staff) the rest around it. Common as a first step; venues tend to outgrow it at real weekend volume.
ShiftOS
The closest thing to a direct SimPull competitor in positioning. If you're evaluating us, evaluate them too, seriously, do the demo.
On price, do the all-in math: they have moved to a multi-module model, a base platform fee plus separate add-ons (for example a launch module and an engagement module), so add up the modules a full floor actually needs and compare that to our single flat $100 per rig. What to verify: the full self-serve path (can a walk-up go phone to paid to driving with zero staff?), what the customer gets after the session (coaching? a reason to return?), how leagues score, and what connects venue #1 to venue #2. Score it against the same checklist you score us on.
GTLane
A broader multi-title platform (it supports more than one racing sim) with a deep content and guide library. If you run titles beyond Assetto Corsa, it belongs on your shortlist.
What to verify against our checklist: the true zero-staff self-serve path, whether guests get an AI coaching debrief after a run, and how it handles a network of venues (shared leaderboards and racing between sites). We are Assetto Corsa-first by design; if AC is your floor, weigh their breadth against our depth on the guest experience.
SRL (Sim Racing Limited)
A longer-standing option some venues run today. We've operated alongside it enough to give one concrete tip: time the workflows in the demo. Ask to watch a staff member create and launch a custom race scenario end-to-end, with a stopwatch. Setup speed sounds like a small thing until it's Friday night and rig 4 wants a different track, in our venues that operation takes seconds, and we've seen setups elsewhere where it takes ten minutes or more.
The DIY stack
Where almost everyone starts, and fine at low volume. The hidden cost is that nothing launches or times the rigs, people do, so the "cheap" stack quietly becomes your most expensive staffing line. Run the staffing math on your own numbers.
SimPull (us)
All seven capabilities in one system: guests book, pay, and launch rigs from their phone; you run the floor from one screen; every lap feeds leaderboards, an AI coach, and leagues that already span multiple venues. Built by operators, it runs our own three venues every day, which is both the pitch and the proof.
Where we're honest about limits: we're Assetto Corsa-first (rFactor 2 support is in licensing talks, not shipped), and the sim's commercial license is your purchase, not ours, same as every vendor on this page, whatever anyone implies.
Bottom line
- Just need launching? Multitap is the budget pick.
- Full venue management? Shortlist SimPull and ShiftOS, demo both against the checklist, time the workflows.
- Multi-venue ambitions or a self-serve floor? That's the exact reason SimPull exists, it's the part we built first, not bolted on.
The demo is the argument
We'll show you a real venue running live, a walk-up booking itself, a race launching, a league scoring, not slides. Then go watch the others and compare.
